I just watched a beautiful film from a few years ago that I had missed. What inspired me most was the character of Kya, a botanical illustrator in the marsh of North Carolina, imagining a life fully integrated with nature, where the only occupation is drawing the birds, shells, mushrooms, plants, and flowers around you. I think I’m going to spend more time painting in nature. You can find the film on Netflix, it’s called Where the Crawdads Sing.
